1. Tetrafluoroethylene ethylene copolymer is a crystalline polymer, abbreviated as F40;
2. The melting point temperature is 267 ℃, and it can be used for a long time at -190~+180 ℃. After aging for 10 years at 180 ℃, its elongation rate only decreases to half of the original value;
3. F40 can maintain the required strength and elongation within the range of -200~+180 ℃, which is better than PTFE and FEP. F40 also has excellent cutting resistance, and its creep resistance at high temperatures and impact resistance at low temperatures are better than PTFE;
4. The electrical insulation performance is second only to PTFE and FEP, with a dielectric constant of 2.6 at 1000Hz;
5. The chemical resistance is excellent, similar to other fluororesins;
6. Excellent resistance to atmospheric aging and radiation;
7. The processing performance of F40 is not significantly different from that of general thermoplastic plastics, and due to its excellent performance and low cost, it has opened up new avenues for the widespread application of F40. Therefore, F40 can replace F46 for insulation and sheathing of cables.
