What are the types of commonly used wires and cables according to their purposes?

1

Bare wire: No insulation layer, including copper, aluminum flat wires, overhead stranded wires, and various profiles. It can be used as a conductive wire and electrical equipment component. Has excellent conductivity and mechanical properties, but is susceptible to corrosion due to the lack of insulation layer.

Insulated wire: A type of wire that wraps non-conductive insulation material around the periphery of a conductor to prevent contact between the conductor and the outside world, and to prevent leakage and short circuits. Insulated wires are widely used in households, large-scale construction projects, electrical equipment, power engineering, and other fields.

Heat resistant wire: refers to a wire that can maintain safe operation for a certain period of time in high temperature environments. They can maintain normal operation for a certain period of time under flame combustion conditions, maintain circuit integrity, and are not easily burned or delayed at high temperatures.

Shielded wire:  Adding a shielding layer to the insulation layer to reduce electromagnetic interference and signal loss, and improve signal transmission quality. For example, BVVP copper mesh shielded wires.

Power cables:  mainly used for transmitting and distributing electrical energy, with advantages such as not occupying ground space and stable transmission performance. According to insulation materials, they can be divided into oil immersed paper, plastic, rubber insulated power cables, etc;According to the voltage level, cables can be divided into low voltage, medium low voltage, high voltage, ultra-high voltage, and extra high voltage.

Control cable: used in electrical control systems, especially in industrial automation control, to accurately control the operation of equipment and improve production efficiency.

Communication cable: used for transmitting electrical signals such as telephone and television, usually consisting of multiple conductors forming a cable core, with a protective cover on the outer layer for protection. It has the advantages of good confidentiality and less external interference.

RF cable: specifically used for transmitting RF signals, such as TV signals, radio signals, etc., with stable high-frequency transmission performance and low loss.
